All-Clad Copper Core 10-Inch Fry Pan

All-Clad Copper Core 10-Inch Fry Pan
ok., (What's this?) I bought the 8 inch fry pan & it is only ok. the copper content is insignificant so it responds like any other decent aluminum clad pan. the handle is awful. anything larger than 8 inch would be difficult to use. I bought a larger pan that is stainless steel copper clad & it has excellent handles, responds very quickly to heat changes & is well worth the extra money.
Definitely not worth the premium for copper core!, I suppose expensive pots/pans operate on the price-equals-quality psychology that permeates the pricing strategy of most luxury goods because this pan does NOT cook any more evenly or faster than our aluminum core cookware! I also own the copper-core ALL Clad windsor model and it actually takes longer to boil water than our simple aluminum-sandwiched-between-stainless pot of the same capacity (to be fair, these comparisons were done on a gas cooking range on high heat. i'm not sure of the outcomes on flat top electric ranges....) Also the copper quickly oxidizes and you will have to hand wash these costly tools if you want the copper stripe to shine.
Wow!, (What's this?) This pan blows away all my other pans and all the pans I have had in the past. Even, intense heat, excellent browning, easy cleanup. Golly. Worth every one of the many pennies it costs.
SWC, (What's this?) Received this product quick. The All Clad Copper Core is a great cooking utensil and the 8 inch size is good for saute or cooking small things.
Always my "Go To" skillet, All-Clad Copper Core 12-Inch Fry Pan I love this fry pan / skillet - call it what you like. It cooks like a dream, cleans up easily. No hot spots. Large without being unwieldy. Yes - you do have to clean it every time with Bartender's Friend so the cooking surface stays pristine. Not such a big deal. I love All-Clad and especially the copper core for it's fool proof even heating.
It is not a good steel, Key words: it requires right amount of oil (means a lot!) - not your healthy cooking pan. When you don't have oil to fully cover all surface, it burns - no beautiful pancakes or potatoes cakes (though washed later ok). I also have doubts about quality of steel in the recent years: mine got colored circles. They did not go away on recommended washing types. I was afraid to use it: these color circles may be signs of oxygenation of steel.
over rated, Save money. It's a pan,not an Iphone,alright?
Pros:
It does what any pan does.
My favorite fry pan, (What's this?) For more years than I care to admit, I've been cooking with poor quality cookware and didn't realize there was anything better. I was convinced I couldn't cook with anything except a teflon coating. Well, after getting a new electric ceramic top range, I decided to splurge on an All-Clad fry pan and am I ever glad I did!!! I followed the instructions I've read online to let the pan heat up before I put the food in and it works like a dream. I don't know if anyone can believe it, but I'm pretty convinced that this fry pan has made me a much better cook!!! The even heat is amazing, food cooks so much better, and at a lower temperature than I needed before. Clean up is easy and All-Clad gleams as it hangs from my pots and pans rack. A little Bar Keeper's Friend works miracles if there are any splotches from food reacting with the finish while it cooks. I have to admit, first time out of the box in my enthusiasm to heat the pan first, I forgot for a minute and scorched a spot on the inside bottom. I felt sick about it, since All-Clad is rather pricey. However, Bar Keeper's Friend had it looking like new with little effort. Now that I finally understand how to fry with stainless steel, I hardly ever have anything stick.

Sure, the price is pretty daunting, but I have to say, if I'd found out about this years ago, I wouldn't have had to replace my cookware every few years.

One other thing...there is some heft to this, but I think that's only because of the layers that make this a quality item. I personally love the feel of the weight of the pan. Some people complain about the handle being long, but again, I just love the feel of it and it never seems like it gets hot. (Have to be careful about the handle on the lid getting hot, but I've become accustomed rather quickly to using a potholder without giving it a second thought.
Excellent seller, minor product issue, (What's this?) This is a follow-up to an earlier review on this purchase of an All-Clad, copper core 8" fry pan. Despite the fact that the item had unusual (for All-Clad) finishing marks around the rim of the pan, the excellent price on the item easily offset the aesthetic issue. In my earlier review I commented that the item didn't meet the standards I've come to expect of All-Clad, wondering if it might have been a factory second (still a good deal even then). The seller has been both very prompt and absolutely first class in finding a solution to my issue, and determining that the pan I received was not a factory second (the seller doesn't sell seconds) and has offered to replace the pan, or discount the pan by 50% if I want to keep it, or give me a full refund including shipping costs. I provided photographs to the seller who, upon viewing them, agreed with my description of the appearance. I am now convinced that the item, except for the rim blemishes, was as described. Since the rim blemishes in no way impact the functioning of the pan and since I felt that I already had purchased the pan at a very good price I plan to keep the pan and not take the seller up on the offer to reduce my cost by 50%. If the pan didn't have the rim blemishes I would rate the entire experience as 5-star. I would recommend this seller very highly as they obviously take pride in their business and went the extra mile to ensure I was satisfied.
All Clad Copper Core the Best!, (What's this?) I love this pan and use it everyday from boiling water to heating up food to cooking vegetables.
