Progressive International Microwavable Omelet Maker

Progressive International Microwavable Omelet Maker
Vile contraption, I had one of these I purchased from a big-name retailer back in '03, as I recall. I was really excited to see this marvellous contraption on the shelf and then in my shopping cart. After using it, however, it never really got clean, even in the dishwasher. But I like omelettes, so 3 stars.
NOT RIGHT FOR ME., UPDATE 11/14/11: Make it a 5 Star *****
It is my powerful microwave that is messing up the Omelet.

If I cook it for 3 minutes at power level 7 - it is almost perfect.

I put the cheese in the middle and close it up and the hot eggs melt the cheese in two minutes. I DO NOT microwave it the SECOND or THIRD time. The cheese melts perfectly with just the hot eggs.
Microwave omlet maker, (What's this?) I found that the eggs require a little more time in microwave than instructed. Could be my oven. Omlets come out perfect. Easy to use. I am handicapped and cooking from a wheelchair is difficult. Now I can make omlets in 3 minutes without burning the eggs or myself.
arrived cracked, (What's this?) This is made of cheap plastic. When it arrived I placed it in my cubbard. When I toke it out a month later (past the return date) I noticed that it was cracked. I am pretty sure it arrived that way and I didn't notice. In addition, the hinges don't line up right and are out of alignment, so it would not have worked well anyway. Oh well, you get what you pay for and this was pretty cheap. But, even at the cheap price its a waste of money.
The very best omelet maker., (What's this?) I have never had an omelet maker that worked as easy and well as this one.I just love it.I did have to add a minor amount of cooking time, but the omelet was so fluffy and just the right temp.
I would not hesitate getting another of these, and the price was right.
Great product....love it.
To my surprise it really works well., (What's this?) I had a little left over fried sausage. I diced it up and followed the easy insrtuctions. I beat 3 eggs and put 1/2 in each side. Cooked the egg by itself for 1 minute. I put the sausage on top and added 2 slices of swiss cheese and cooked for 30 sec. I the closed the maker which closed the omelet. I cooked for 30 sec. more. It was perfect.
good little gadget, (What's this?) I was looking for an omelet maker for a long time. This is easy to use, I can fill it how I like it, works as it was described , just enough for two people. No fuss with another electric machine. It's an everyday appliance. Happy I bought it.
I prefer the taste of an omelet fryed with butter..., ...to the taste that I got with this unit. Not ony the taste but also the consistency is more palatable.
Couldn't be better!, (What's this?)
Better than other omelet makers (see below, also includes our recipe), (What's this?) Bought this one at the same time as the KittAmor Microwave Omelette Maker. This one (Progressive) is superior, mainly because of the two handles. When you pull it out of the microwave, the larger handles are cool enough to touch right away. On the KittArmor model, the smaller handles are hot and uncomfortable to touch. The omelettes they make taste the same.

Interestingly, the KittArmor model included a better recipe. Here's ours: three eggs, two tablespoons milk, lots of mushrooms and cheese. 90 seconds, add toppings, 70 seconds, close lid, 10 seconds, always on high power. Our new 1250 watt microwave is more powerful than most, so you may have to adjust your times accordingly.

The reviewers who said this makes rubbery omelettes probably had low-power microwaves, or poorly functioning ones. They seem to wear out after a while, although our last one made it to 15 years.

Five stars for making great omelettes, no points deducted for not including milk in the recipe.
